This first ESG report provides UTILE with a tool to measure and monitor the impacts of its activities at various levels, from the affordability of its housing to the performance of its buildings and its governance.
This report is based on a first formal exercise to prioritize environmental, social, and governance issues, conducted in 2025 with support from the Asthuce team at the Fonds de solidarité FTQ. This process enabled the organization to identify its most important issues and structure its approach around three pillars: Housing, Construction & Operation, and Sustainable Success.
The report outlines the practices already in place, the early results measured, and the priority initiatives for 2026 and 2027. It reveals, in particular, that UTILE’s 923 tenants benefited from rents that were, on average, 28% below market value, representing nearly $2.9 million in savings. These positive social impacts are expected to grow as UTILE’s housing portfolio expands and its practices evolve.
