From Hours on the Bus to 20 Minutes from Campus: Lily’s Story

From Hours on the Bus to 20 Minutes from Campus: Lily’s Story

📍 Building: UTILE Parc La Fontaine, Montreal

🎓 Business & Psychology, Concordia University

🗓 Tenant since 2021

A bright, well-located apartment

It’s usually pretty quiet here, except in the summer when La Fontaine park comes alive, which I don’t mind at all. What I really appreciate is how close it is to Concordia’s downtown campus: just one bus ride and I’m there. No time wasted! I also like the way the building is designed, with its square shape, lots of windows, the laundry room nearby, and the common room. As for the apartment itself, what I enjoy most is the natural light thanks to the large windows.

Pratical spaces and supportive neighbors!

The atmosphere in the building is calm and respectful. Among student neighbors, we look out for each other: for example, with parcel deliveries, we work together by bringing packages inside to prevent theft. We get along well, we support each other, and we even have a group to stay connected. Community life here is really great!

I also use the shared spaces a lot, like the laundry room, no choice there! But also the common room, for studying or grabbing a coffee. I even booked it once for a personal event, it’s nice to have that option!

Why UTILE?

First of all, the price: UTILE offers very competitive rents for student apartments that aren’t necessarily on-campus residences. Then there’s the location: close to downtown and Concordia’s campus. Plus, living with other students means we understand each other’s situations really well.

Less commuting, more time for what matters

Living on my own has also helped me grow as a person. You learn to be resourceful, because there’s no one to do everything for you. You figure out how to take care of your place and become more independent. It’s great preparation for the future, when you’ll have a home of your own! Also, living here has saved me so much time. Before, I lived really far from school and spent hours commuting. Now I’m only 20 minutes away by bus, and it changes everything! Between school and work, time is precious, and I can’t afford to waste it.

I recommand UTILE 100%!

Yes, absolutely. As a student, the budget is always tight, so the price is definitely attractive. Even on the management side: the building manager here does an amazing job, and I’ve also spoken with other UTILE staff who are always willing to help and accommodate our needs, like when we need something fixed in the apartment. So yes, for me it’s 100% — I recommend UTILE as the best housing option, especially for students.

Living at UTILE Parc La Fontaine, for Lily, means having an apartment that fits her student reality.
